Make UK Defence membership
Make UK Defence is the UK’s leading trade association for the defence supply chain and is recognised by the Ministry of Defence. It supports suppliers across the sector and helps them stay aligned with the needs of defence buyers.
Members join events that connect them with primes, MOD teams and mid-tier companies. The long-running Meet the Buyers series has also generated significant subcontract work for members.
This membership gives you added confidence that Milturn is part of a recognised UK defence network and stays close to sector expectations.
What we do
Our sites in Surrey and Leicestershire handle CNC milling and turning, 3, 4 and 5-axis machining, in-house finishing and laser engraving. You get full material traceability and documented inspection at every stage. These capabilities support first prototypes and long-term programmes that need tight control and consistent results.
Our role in the UK defence supply chain
Defence teams use Milturn when they need precise components with dependable repeatability. We get involved early to look at manufacturability, materials and machining strategies that keep your parts accurate and stable across batches. Milturn sits within Vision Engineering Group and works closely with Vision Engineering Technology Partnerships. You get wider support when projects need DFM, assembly or inspection. This keeps your work within one group and avoids adding extra suppliers to your chain.
Members of Make UK Defence can also access the Fit for Defence programme. This provides specialist guidance from experts in areas such as marketing, law, project management and health and safety to help strengthen capability in the defence supply chain.
