US Tariff Announcement April 2025

From Vision Engineering, to our international customers and partners, regarding recent tariff developments April 2025.

Dear Partner,

You will be as familiar as we are with the detail of the US Government’s tariff policy.
The purpose of this communication with you is to outline Vision Engineering Group’s position.

Vision Engineering Group consists of :

• Vision Engineering (Optical and Digital Instrumentation).
• Vision Engineering Technology Partnerships (providing design and manufacturing to high tech instrumentation companies, across a wide range of specialisations).
• Vision Optics (providing high performance optical components to a range of integrators).
• Milturn Precision (providing high end machining, anodizing, other coating and assembly to high spec manufacturers).
• Although Vision Engineering is a private 67 year old British company, we have also had a manufacturing subsidiary (Vision Engineering Inc., Connecticut) in the USA since the Eighties.

In other developed countries (Germany, France, Italy, Japan, India, Singapore), we have tech and commercial subsidiaries.

Over 90% of our business is with customers/partners outside of the UK. Both our customers and our supply network are very international.

We have carried out a thorough review of the developing tariff situation, including clarifications from the US Government and responses from other affected countries.

We would like to communicate with you the following:

• We remain firmly committed to our position as a UK and USA manufacturer of innovative and high quality instrumentation
  Our 50 person manufacturing plant in the USA will not be affected.
• We will work with our supply chain to minimize increases in costs and will keep resulting increases in end user prices to an absolute minimum.
• We will position stock in all of our global subsidiaries, to ensure that we can continue our established strategy of shortest delivery times.
• If the present situation results in increases in customer manufacturing capacity in some countries, we will preposition stock to ensure we can respond.
• We will continue to directly employ highly qualified local engineers to give first class technical and commercial support to our customers and partners worldwide.
• We will continue to invest substantially in technical R&D & innovation, to provide targeted latest tech products.
